In the beginning of July, Sabine Popp entered the community of Skomvær just shortly after Sarah Jost, also BAG member, had left. She got there together with Karen Werner as the invitation resulted from a collaboration for Radio Hopes and Dreams last autumn, when they had a shared conversation about listening, seaweed, consent and an organism giving itself as a gift.
Sabine’s recent interest goes under the title A Curious Practice – to follow motion. It starts from a geological event pushing organisms into regions where they didn’t belong. A reversal of this movement is imagined with the force of rising temperatures and migration of living beings to the north. This movement becomes entangled with weather, tides, cargoships and fishing boats along the same coastlines, from the perspective of a weather station, which no longer exists.
