Sabine Popp

1970. Werneck (D)

Point of departure in Sabine Popp’s artistic practice is the exploration of a specific geographical place and human beings’ relation to it through work and daily routines.  Archive material and dialogue with representatives of professional or social groups, is brought in conjunction with subjective experience through involvement with physical processes. Sabine Popp studied at the Bergen Academy of Art and Design (MA degree in 2001), the University of Barcelona and the Glasgow School of Arts. In 2021 she gained a phd with the project  Agential Matter (Invisible Landscapes), affiliated with the Faculty for Art, Music and Design at the University of Bergen. In 2020/21 she was involved in the project feldern. zusammentun und auseinandersetzen for Zentrum für aktuelle Kunst in Berlin/ Spandau, which examined the potential in collective doing as conceptual entry point for a group exhibition. She’s currently involved in work with Longva Artists Residency and a collaboration for Lunden Kunstverein in Germany.
