Between Sky & Sea is a performance event that takes place every third year on different Norwegian islands, and this year, Sabine Popp is one of the invited artists. The 6th edition is titled “Temporal Horizons” and brings eight artists, art historians, lecturers and others together. For two weeks the artists will develop their works on Skuløy inspired and informed by seminars and discussions, leading up to a public performance program and showing August 20th 2022 from 14.00 – 18.00. The event takes place by the red boat house in the Longva harbor in Skuløy.
The title ‘Temporal Horizons’ wants to focus on the relation between time, landscape/geology, body and affect with Sunnmøre as a starting point, especially Nordøyane archipelago with its peculiar bedrock geology. The goal is to challenge our notions of time and the tension between the planet’s temporality (geological time) and human temporality.
Between Sky and Sea VI is an event by Performance Art Bergen and Longva AiR in Skuløy, Møre og Romsdal, Norway. Longva Artist Residency is a residency programme in progress for professional artists and writers on Skuløy. Skuløy is a part of the archipelago Nordøyane that lies in open sea 24 km from Ålesund.
