From December 2025 Bergen Ateliergruppe is hosting two artworks donated to the Communist Museum of Palestine by the artists Omar Shala and Rheim Alkadi.
By inviting donations of artworks and volunteer hosts to display and care for the artworks, the Commonist Museum of Palestine questions the uses and forms of art, knowledge, and their institutions. As a participating project of Bergen Assembly 2025, the museum exists throughout the city of Bergen – within domestic or communal host spaces such as art galleries, bars, schools, cafe’s and private homes.
In centering communal care and solidarity the museum investigates the possibilities of maintaining a decolonised, decentered archive cared for by communities. Along with collaborators, the continual reclamation of the museum in Palestine, and wherever Palestinian life is supported, seeks to reimagine futures for art and life that resist ongoing forms of colonial, imperial, and racial violence.
